About this place
Some diners say the coffee jelly stands out for its firm texture and bitter flavour; others enjoy it with iced coffee. The menu includes coffee jelly, available only in 5 and 10, topped with vanilla ice cream, as well as cream anmitsu, also limited to 5 and 10. The anmitsu is built around coffee jelly and served with chestnut, apricot, gyūhi (soft rice cake) and kuromitsu syrup. Choose the jelly to savour the coffee’s bitterness on its own, or the anmitsu for a sweeter dessert with chewy toppings. Both give the café’s coffee a starring role.
Choose from coffees such as the Westwood Blend, described as light-bodied with a clean finish, and the Boston Blend, with bitterness and body balanced by a crisp aftertaste. One reviewer enjoyed taking time to decide and noted that their Westwood Blend came with a coffee biscuit. The European Blend has a full-bodied taste, with sweetness beneath its bitterness. You can also buy a favourite blend to take home as beans.
For something more substantial than a sweet, try honey toast made with coffee honey or Italian toast topped with cheese, salami and tomato sauce. Cinnamon Dream pairs cinnamon toast with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream, finished with maple syrup—a sweet option to enjoy with coffee.
The drinks menu also includes a range of teas and herbal teas. Dine in or order takeaway; payment is cash only.
